One of the statements the defense lawyer made was that these were troubled youths anyway, having been referred (to Sandusky's non profit) by human service agencies and courts systems. I notices the attitudes of social workers and others years ago, towards my children and myself when I received welfare. My boys did not get mentors or join Big Brothers. I saw too much opportunity for abuse. I was right. I received many threats for not being a slave to those welfare agencies who came into my house at any excuse until I finally told them to produce a warrant or leave me alone. My children are all productive citizens with happy families.
